Description

This is version 2 of my Y-connector/splitter solution with a straight pass through for the AMS and a more curved pass through for the extra tube.

Is a 100% 3D printable Y-connector/splitter solution for the Bambulab printers P1P, P1S or X1.

The only thing you will need is 30mm PTFE tube between the PTFE tube connector of your printer and the Y-connector/splitter, see the image (blue PTFE tube).

Remember to push the PTFE tube all the way inside the Y-splitter it must touch the inner “stops”.

The mounting plate is optional the Y-connector/splitter works just fine without it.

If you choose to use the mounting plate use the screws on the back, see frontpage image.

Hope you find the model usefull.

Nice and easy print in clear PETG, works great. I just needed a touch of PTFE grease to the locking collar threads as they were a bit stiff to turn.

looking great, thanks for the review! I can see that you have mounted it upside down the idea is that the straight pass through is for AMS it will work the way you have mounted it but the “flow” is more optimal the other way.

Thanks for making this updated design. I printed the first version, and it works well. As others have noted, there is a slight scrape as the filament passes through. I expect that this design will eliminate any chance of the filament catching as it is pushed from the AMS to the hot end. The first one printed flawlessly and I'm sure this one will as well. So, take my boost!

I just printed the updated version of the splitter and installed it yesterday. As I expected, there was no noise at all as the filament passed through the splitter, as if it wasn't even there. Fantastic work, it amazes me how responsive designers, such as yourself, are to the input of others. Thank you!

the screws are to short to hold the mounting plate 😢

Hi, thanks for the boost! You have to press "hard" for it to be long enough. I am not able to make the mount thinner unfortunately (only 0.4mm) .

I am printing right now... :-) QUESTIONS: Sorry, I am a total newbie... Can I use the spare PTFE Tube that was shipped with my X1C or is it any different? Someone wrote he was using PTFE grease... can I use this one as I have this laying around? https://www.amazon.de/dp/B000UKUHXK?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Thanks

Hi, yes you can use the PTFE tube from the X1C or the AMS no problem, I have tried using that type of PTFE but also Bowden tubes without any problems. I do not use grease I see no reason to so have not tried the grease you link to.

This is the second one I've printed (I printed the "Y" version first). This one with the AMS side running straight through was just the ticket. There is no noise or scratching now as the filament passes through the adapter. I'd post a picture except I've already installed and tested it.
