Adjustable and portable table saw outfeed system
Do you own a contractor saw? Do you have an outfeed table for your saw?
This model is for a complete outfeed system. It is modular, adaptable, adjustable and portable. It is also quick to assemble and remove.
Outfeed system
Have you ever seen an outfeed system for a contractor saw? They are common for cabinet saws but these fixed, costly and they take up lots of floor space. I have yet to see a portable one for contractor saws.
What do you do to cut long pieces of wood or moldings? Do you ask your spouse or hope to find a helper? I often find myself this in situation and I am certain many are like me. I tried using a stand with a roller but often got frustrated. Unless I got the plane and height nailed down it would tip, move or cause my cut to veer off course. Usually, I would cross my fingers and either put a lot of pressure on the infeed side or stop halfway through the cut and lean or rush to grab the outfeed side. I was lucky. I only ended up with burn marks, uneven cuts or ruining the workpiece but I risked kickback or a more serious injury.
I set about designing an outfeed table system for contractor saws. The system had to offer the following:
The design
The adaptability issue was somewhat of a challenge as most contractor saw fences latch at the front and back of the table and you cannot simply screw a hinge to the back of the table. My solution uses side brackets to which is attached a board and hinges.
My design is adaptable to most contractor table saws:
Installations
A downloadable pdf installation guide is included. It is detailed with pictures and component lists.
Required non 3d printed materials
Optional
Printing
Print the ball joint with at least 6 layers and 50% infill.
The hinges and mounting brackets should preferably be printed with 50% fill.
My designs
I enjoy creating 3d models that others can use and appreciate. It is a very fun pastime. I find it very rewarding to see my models downloaded and printed. I put lots of thought, time and effort to create each model print out multiple iterations to make sure it works just right.
If you liked my model and wish to encourage me please give it a like or a boost. If you wish you can also help me with my filament costs. Thank you.
