Description

I figured it was time to move to the dark side for a bit and came up with this design - in hindsight, it looks like something Sauron would be wielding if he was a Sith Lord.

This is my third modular saber, following The Guardian. I will be adding additional parts to this saber in the near future including spacers, hilts, emitter and shroud designs. And yes, I am working on a D-Loop and/or Covertec fastener.

The emitter pieces and hilt grip are compatible with my other ‘modular sabers’, however, the pommel and mid sections of this saber are thinner and will not be compatible with the grips on The Guardian or The Master.

Print Settings:

Layer Height: 0.15mm for main parts, 0.1mm for emitter and buttons.

Walls: 3 for the hilt pieces, 2 for the spacers

Infill: 20% for the shroud, mid section, and pommel. 15% for the rest.

NO SUPPORTS - NO BRIMS - NO GLUE!! :D

Filament:

  • Sunlu Silk PLA - Black
  • Ziro Silk PLA - Black Silver
  • Ziro Silk PLA - Red
  • Sunlu Silk PLA - Silver
  • Overature Matte Black PLA

Assembly Notes:

Look at the pics attached on assembly. The pommel end cap has a 4mm hex hole for an allen key. Note that there are optional indexing holes in the the pommel and button bezel - these are sized to use filament as the alignment pegs.

As always, I hope you all enjoy printing this as much as I enjoyed designing it!

Alt Color. NOVA PLA+. Silk Silver Nova PLA+. Silk Black Esun Pla+ Fire Engine Red. I have had issues prtining the Emitter cover in Silk pla as its brittle this can be to hot or to fast. printing the emitter in none silk so solid colors seems stronger. others resaults may vary. 5/5 Print. Lightsaber Stand from. SabreDesign https://makerworld.com/en/models/177139?from=search#profileId-194789 i have not printed the bottom plate for the stand as i like the minimal look. Printed in Nova PLA + Slik Black

Excellent! Glad it worked out - that was my first profile (I'm brand new to Bambu). I have a couple more plated. I'll be working on the rest this weekend. Thanks for the boost!

Sounds good. I also just uploaded a profile for this. I'll admit I am brand new to using Bambu slicer (and profiles) but if you do use it, let me know how it turns out. most of the setting are pretty vanilla, but I dropped the speed on the 'honeycomb' shroud to make printing it more reliable.

thank you so much. im having issues with the emitter honeycomb printed everything else out on 0.4 i think its my silk filament that may need a dry out its not getting layer ahdeasion. i have changed settings to 1 wall and detect thin layers aim also printing 2 at once to give print more time to cool. its about to complete soon not sure if its going to crumble apart yet. but crumbling is a filament issue i need to solve or ill ask my friend to do it on his 0.2 nozzle. i love the print do you have any stands or do you know of any that may work? im going to print a univerial stand if it works ill post a link so others can print it.

If I recall, I had issue with silk on the honeycomb so I ended up switching to standard black - silk can be tricky. As for stands, I am working on one but it's not ready. These are the ones I use: https://www.printables.com/model/145854-vertical-lightsaber-display-stand-star-wars https://www.printables.com/model/280053-wooden-lightsaber-display-stand

yes. You will need all 17 files. In addition, you will see that some of the washers need to be print 2-3 times (it's noted in the file name.

I'm printing this right now. It's way faster to put multiple parts of the same color on one plate, especially the smaller ones. That way no time lost for color swapping and not constantly having to print the next part.

Yes, its called print by object. It's selection is under the Options tab.
