Hanging Bicycle Wall Mount

Prints (-1)

Description

I tried to make a bike mount that took up little space, and didn't use too much filament to print or require any assembly. It went through quite a few breaks -  erm, I mean design iterations - before getting to the final product.

The bike in the pictures weighs approximately 16 kg.

Printed on a Wanhao Duplicator i3, with the following settings:

  • Plastic: PLA
  • Infill: 100 % (I suspect it will work at lower percentages, but I wanted to be safe.)
  • Layer height: 3 mm
  • Bed temperature: 65 °C
  • Print temperature: 215 °C

The screw holes print at about 5 mm diameter, so you'll need some screws that will fit in to that, as well as some washers in order not to damage the base. A drill will be required to attach the mount to a wall.

NOTE: You will probably need to rotate the model about 30 to 45 ° in order for it to fit on the print bed. It's just slightly too large, otherwise.

I hope somebody finds this useful!

Special thanks to Hennie for letting me use his 3D Printer,  and Sebastian for lending me bicycles to test it with!
