Last year we created a typical staircase. This year we present the spiral staircase. Eleni wanted a spiral staircase for her Christmas Village. She mentioned this about 1 year ago. It is finally here! We release the initial staircase with one design. We were happy with the design but this wanted to create a spoke-banister spiral staircase as well. Now you have a choice to use either the continuous banister or the spoked banister.

Each spiral staircase is quite small. This is because you must size it to your needs in your printer software. The model in the photos was scaled up x-axis: 700x, y-axis: 700x and the z-axis: 400x of the original size. To print a model such as this requires support everywhere. The spoked banister steps are a job to clean up. The continuous banister steps clean up easily. It is well worth it. Remember you can’t print on air!

If you look at some photos of spiral staircases you will see ours is similar. We created our own design without reviewing other designs. At the top we created the platform and rails to securely allow someone to exit the staircase. This is typical of a real spiral staircase.

Idea’s:

The spiral staircase was designed so that you can size it in all directions! You can make your spiral staircase tall and thin, short and wide as you like. The only recommendation is to scale the x and y axis the same.

You can paint the steps. You can really get creative with paints doing all types of color combinations. You can try using filaments that gradually change color or use a two-tone filament. Either should produce a nice result.

If you need a wood-like staircase, you can use a wood PLA filament.

This spiral staircase can be used for any house, Christmas Village
and any indoor our outdoor application in your model.
