Seat belt buckle release press button cap for Saab 900, 9000, Volvos, etc.

This is a press button for the seat belt buckle in a number of cars. Specifically, it is just upper cap portion of the buckle. It is not a part of the catch that actually holds the seat belt in place.

It's meant to be an equivalent to part number: 9188778

I designed this for and tested it in a classic Saab 900, but from looking it up online, it seems it will fit (at least) the following cars:

• Saab 900
• Saab 9000
• Volvo 240
• Volvo 244
• Volvo 245
• Volvo 260
• Volvo 740
• Volvo 760
• Volvo 850
• Volvo 940
• Volvo 960
• Volvo C70
• Volvo S90
• Volvo V90

Your mileage may vary.

If you lost it when the old button came off, you may need a new compression spring. One around 5mm in diameter by about 20mm long should do it. The button will work without the spring, but it'll just lay down when the belt is not buckled.

For putting the button in place, I found it easier to get it to snap around the connectors while the belt is buckled rather than not. Just hold the belt portion of the buckle in place with one hand while you press the button down with the other.

I've included a button with the word "PRESS" in a similar font to the original, and I've also included a blank button you can modify as you desire. I've included a STEP file as well as an STL for that blank button to facilitate modifications.
