The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single-seat, twin-turbofan, straight-wing, subsonic attack aircraft developed by Fairchild Republic for the United States Air Force (USAF). In service since 1976, it is named for the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, a World War II-era fighter-bomber effective at attacking ground targets, but commonly referred to as the "Warthog" or simply "Hog".[4] The A-10 was designed to provide close air support (CAS) to friendly ground troops by attacking armored vehicles, tanks, and other enemy ground forces; it is the only production-built aircraft designed solely for CAS to have served with the U.S. Air Force.[5] Its secondary mission is to direct other aircraft in attacks on ground targets, a role called forward air controller-airborne; aircraft used primarily in this role are designated OA-10.

Airplanes are a type of aircraft that are designed for the purpose of transporting people and goods from one place to another. Airplanes are powered by jet engines, and they are able to reach high speeds and altitudes. Airplanes are a vital means of transportation for both passengers and cargo, and they play a crucial role in the global economy. There are many different types of airplanes, including commercial airliners, military aircraft, and private planes. Airplanes have revolutionized the way we travel, making it possible to reach distant locations in a relatively short amount of time. The invention of the airplane has had a significant impact on the world, and it continues to be an important part of our daily lives. So, if you want to travel by airplane, there are many options available to you. Whether you want to fly on a commercial airliner to a far-off destination or charter a private plane for a more personalized experience, there is an airplane that can meet your needs.
