3D model description

This is my rendition of the Scream Canister from Monsters Inc reimagined as a lamp. The red scream level indicator is actually the dimmer select and power on off. By raising the red scream level indicator to full the top, the bulb will be at full brightness and by lowering the indicator it will dim the bulb until it fully shuts off.

3D printing settings

I printed this in PLA+
Each piece can be printed in its corresponding color, so no paint is needed.
Please use supports and re-orientate parts to get the best results for your printer.

23 SL GEAR TENSION will need to be heated and bent to interact with the main gear properly. This can be done with a heat gun / hot hair dryer / or very carefully with a lighter.

Also this will require a general working knowledge of electronics and lamp building. Please build to your own level and safety.

You will need a rotary dimmer switch that engages, on, off and dims only by rotation. a push button switch will not work with this.

Other miscellaneous lamp parts can be purchased in lamp kits from various retailers and or an existing donor lamp can be cannibalized for parts.

This is just for the body parts and gearing no electronics or wiring instructions are in this download.

To Print the shade standard settings as above but the lithophane should be printed at 100% infill. There are 2 copies of the lithophane a standard and an inverted depending if you want to show a flat or textured surface when the lamp is off.

Each of the shade pieces should be printed with their largest flat printed flush (laying) on the print bed.

The 4 corners will print standing upright.

The shade will need to be glued together. I personally like Weld-on-4 for PLA prints but others can be used.

The inner shade (shade bones and bones inner and outer) will all be glued together and seperate from the main shade. The main shade slides down so each "bone" rests in a corner and the angle holds it together.
