3D model description

I had a requirement for a large capacity sous vide oven for a party and decided to make one.

I utilised a cheap cool box from The Range (https://www.therange.co.uk/cooking-and-dining/outdoor-dining/picnicware/cool-boxes-and-bags/ice-box/#738192) and the 1200W iVide2.0 from Sous Vide Tools. (https://www.sousvidetools.com/ivide-2-0-cooker).

The project comprises two parts: an insert for the hole which needs to be cut in the lid and then a mount for the sous vide cooker itself, to align and mount it.

The use of the cool box makes the design very thermally efficient and temperature loss in tests have been very low indeed. Much better than most single-walled solutions.

3D printing settings

This can theoretically reach almost 100C, so PLA is not advised. I used ABS, but PETG should be OK too, I imagine.

Obviously you will need to cut a hole in the lid of the box, but this is fairly straightforward and you can use the blanking plate as a guide.

You should use a flexible silicone gasket sealant to fix the parts to the box and to fill any gaps.
