DUST 1948 - SIGRID III - Ungeheuer Jager - Hero (Monster Hunter)

Its 1948, the war isn't over, with the Cthulhu threat becoming worse by the day the Blutkreuz Korps have had to become a fearsome mobile force with their new super heavy walkers allowing them to take the fight directly to the incursions besieging the world.

Sigrid, leading by example, took a convoy directly into one of the incursion zones but was ambushed with her entire platoon nearly being wiped out. During the battle, Sigrid was attacked in close combat by a Mi-Go, causing her to lose sight in her right eye but despite that striking a lethal blow to the abomination with her combat knives.

With the battle not over but out of panzerfausts as well as her trusty laser pistol completely depleted, she had no choice but to take a nearby fallen soldier's laser sniper rifle, the back power pack and a Rocket Launcher with 3 rockets remaining. It was at that time her "pet" Ly-NX then entered area, his primary head laser had been damaged but otherwise he was in good working order; she set his proximity mode to near and proceeded to exit out of the Konigsgottervater she had been fighting inside.

Just then she heard a scream, not audible but instead it was inside her very mind..... This was not the first time she had encountered this intense feeling, although it was far more bearable this time, regardless, she knew what she had to do and she began to run with Ly-NX in the direction she felt the source must be in.

It wasn't long until she found the very thing she was looking for, it was an Avatar of Nyarlathotep and from experience, she knew it was the mastermind behind the ambush, with no help and Ly-NX's primary weapon damaged she would have no choice but to go one on one with the beast.

Sigrid took position and fired 3 rockets right into the beasts chest which all hit their mark causing it to burst wide open, now it could not assault her with its psychic scream however she knew better than to leave it standing as any Cthulhu not turned to DUST would never stop and right on cue it began closing on her position, she fired the laser sniper rifle and took out an arm... Then another shot which took out a leg, now it was hobbling along however closing on her fast.... The backpacks reload time was too long.

It was at that moment she had an idea, she pulled the raw connections from the backpack out and accessed the hatch on Ly-NX that integrates it into her Snow Lynx II walker; plugging the bare wires right into the 3 VK generators on Ly-NX back. The laser sniper rifle glowed so bright she almost couldn't aim at the target and she fired....

After that day, Sigrid was known to many as Sigrid - Ungeheuer Jager. (Monster Hunter)
