3D model description

One weak part on the replicator 2x is the cable to the x-stepper motor.

It will break sooner or later.

Put this Stepperpart on the plastic where the stepper motor is.

Then take the 2 cables and put them in the slot of the stepperpart you just fasten. In the edge of your replicator 2x you see the cable is fasten with a clip. you can release the upper clip so the cable get get more room and release some stress on it.

The start with the StepperChain.Start with the black cable and move it in the slots on the stepperChains parts.

After you done that you can fasten in on the StepperPart.

Now get the StepperFrame and put the cables in that. Fasten the StepperFrame to the StepperChain.

Maker sure the cables i in the middle and is not miss align anywhere.

Now fasten the StepperFrame to the replicator 2x frame. Make sure you have clearance, so no cable is damage.

I used double sided tape for this.

UPDATE

I have made an update on the StepperPart. It is little smaller so it will not hit the screw in the front of the bot. I did add some extra material ontop of it so it should not be any weaker.

3D printing settings

I made this with 123d Design.

I also tried makerware at medium setting and all default. Just to make sure it works for all people.

But I then used 0.15mm to print it out. Also the StepperPart and the StepperFrame I made solid. The StepperChain I used 20% infill.

You are free to use what you want, but it would be better if you made all part solid, so they not break.

If the part is not friction free then you might want to use a drill and make the hole totally round. They almost newer is when you print.

Also the StepperChain link that is fasten to the StepperPart you might need to file/sand down the edge so it move more free or it will break.
