V2 Arrow 60" Twist Wing Slope Glider E- Glider

Wings pivot to provide pitch and roll via beveled gears driven by 2 servos (Corona DS-238MG).

The design uses foam core/ balsa sheeted (1/16") wings. The wing plan is in the photos. Around 24 ounces as shown. The Dollar Tree 3D printed/sheeted wings in my other listing were intended for this plane and will also work. Tails are 1/8" balsa.

There is room for 2° dihedral depending on the airfoil.

The spar is an 8mm x 250mm glass fiber rod, running inside a 10mm X 8mm aluminum tube, 100mm in each wing and 50mm in the fuselage that also serves as a bushing for the crown gear/pivot arms. Tail boom is a 10mm X 8mm X 500mm CF tube secured by a set screw and replaceable if broken.

The aluminum wing tube needs a 1/16" plywood root rib and a sub-rib at the other end inside of the wing approx 3" long. The pivot pin (3/32" rod) needs a hard point at the root, 3/8" wood dowel for example. Pivot pin is 30mm forward of the main spar.

The plane needs extra up trim on take off until it's up to flying speed. Err on the side of more.

I'm currently redesigning the plane for the option of higher quality servos (and more expensive). The V3 will have 3D printed wing cores, eliminating the need for foam cores and the aluminum tube. Sheeted foam wings are nearly indestructible, but the cores cost $60 to $80 for literally $2 of foam due to set up time and shipping.
