3D model description

Greetings you sobered up dungeoneer!

So... You and your friends defeated the mighty Drink Hoard, eh?
Let me guess: everyone cheered and emptied their mugs, you put the dungeon and cards away to have an arm-wrestle match instead, you passed out victorious and finally today woke up in a bad hangover? After downing a sturdy meal and a barrel worth of water, you realized the game was still all sticky and sugary from last night, and it's time to give a nice cleaning for the waterproof cards. Aaand only after dumping everything into a wash basin and giving them cards a thorough cleanse, you're facing a problem:

Where do I hang all these 253 cards and dungeon tiles for drying?!

Alas! I have a solution for thee:

Custom made Card Drying Racks!

If you have a 3D-printer (or know a goblin/librarian/engineer/dwarf friend who has one), this is a must have addition to your Heroes of Barcadia box! Simply print the following amount of each rack, and you should have space for all cards:

6x Small Drying Rack
3x Small Drying Rack with Hole
3x Medium Drying Rack
3x Medium Drying rack with Hole

The Small Rack can hold 13-14 cards each, Medium 22-23 cards, and Long 35-36 Cards. However, I recommend printing only Small and Medium racks, as the Long version is as long as the HoB box! My printers bed just isn't big enough to print it flat, and I didn't bother trying to print it upright. But if you're feeling adventurous, go ahead and try printing the long one :D Share a pic if you manage it!

The racks with holes are meant for easier removal from the box before games. Put at least 1 rack with a hole on each layer, as otherwise they miiiiight be a bit difficult to remove. I only realized this after printing everything out already and taking pictures, that unless you have a knife or a spatula, you're going to have a little difficulty getting them out of the box. The HoB box (with the original packaging/"organizer") should have room for 4 layers of these, and have the potion opener still on top. However, I don't think anything else fits inside the box afterwards, but I have a solution coming for that a bit later! Check the PS at the end of this thingie for more info.

If your HoB box feels smaller than what these can fit into, you can easily scale them down 1% or 2% in slicer or Windows 3D-builder before printing. The cards should still fit easily enough into the "cracks", as they're 1mm wide by default. Make sure your print bed is leveled properly!

Files are free to use and modify for your needs. However a tag/mention of original craftsman would be appreciated @kranaika :) Share pictures of your drying arsenal when the time comes!

PS: I have a Heroes of Barcadia Card Storage System / Organizer also coming out soon that takes better advantage of the volume inside the storage box. Follow me here, on Thingiverse or Shapeways to get notified when I get around publishing the damn thing!

3D printing settings

Print using PLA, ABS or PETG. I recommend 0.16 layer height, but 0.20 can be used as well. No raft or brim needed, I used only a skirt, glue and heated bed on my Creality Ender-5 printer, with gray Sunlu PLA.
