3D model description

After so many of you asking for a Helios 44-2 (58mm f2) rehousing, I finally decided to release my design for it.

It works great and enhances the already impressive capabilities this little lens has for you.

You get cine-style gears for smooth focusing while still maintaining the focus scale visible.

The parts fit very snugly on the lens so there's no need for taking the lens apart. All parts are held together with grub screws.

The front diameter measures 95mm, so works with clamp-on mattboxes while it maintains an inner diameter of 82mm for screw on filter (step up rings needed).

I also encourage to adapt the M42 mount to an EF mount.

Parts needed:

  • 16x M3 grub screws

  • Step up rings: 49 -52, 52 - 55, 55 - 58, 58 - 62, 62 - 67, 67 - 72, 72 - 77, 77 - 82

  • tape & sanding paper

Info:

Some parts might need some sanding to fit perfectly. Also using ducktape helps to get the right fit. The crews secure the parts additionally.

If you have any input on the design let me know! I'm constatntly updating the designs of my rehousings!

UPDATES:

03.07.2023: Ive added a rear cap to mimic the style of anamorphic blur. Its an easy drop in and is held by friction. Enjoy!
