3D printable Earth moon orrery

ive designed this printable orrery which shows the movement of the earth and the moon around the sun.
this has been an ongoing project based on the machining work of AmandaGhassaei on instagram, while this piece is based around their design and their published instructables page, the changes to make it printable instead of traditionally machined have been intense.

the model itself is designed to be printed on the most common of hobby 3D printers and even the largest pieces will quite comfortably fit within the build area of an ender3!

there are a few non printed pieces needed to make the model function they include:

14x 623-2rs 3x10x4mm bearings
2x 608RS bearings
7x brass rod (various lengths, maximum 20cm needed)
4x M3 25mm machine bolts

the following parts are from an arduino starter kit:
1x arduino
1x 28BYJ-48 5V stepper motor with driver
breadboard or soldering iron
potentiometer

Included in the print files is a jig for cutting the brass rods to the sizes needed

the build is quite complicated and your printer tollerances need to be quite accurate to ensure smooth movement of the mechanism.

ive included combined STL files aswell as all the individual pieces,
the included zip file has everything inside or you can just download the individual pieces

printed with a 0.6mm nozzle at 0.2mm layer height

the gears and arms are printed with a high infill strength using 20% infill

the other larger parts i printed with a 5% infill to reduce material use and time.
