Ikea Bekant desk control buttons repair

This project replaces the entire control panel under an Ikea Bekant desk. The buttons on my control panel started "sticking" first, then simply stopped working. Stuck in a position I can't really work in. So I disassembled the control panel and figured out the pinout, shorted the connections where the wires would have been and set it to an acceptable height. 

Then I ordered a ribbon cable, ribbon cable breakout board, 2 switches and a micro switch (optional). I designed this model to fit the original circuit board, and the breakout board. The original control panel had a hole where a pin goes, the desk can only move when it is inserted, a safety feature for small children I suppose. I preserved the feature by introducing the micro switch into the design. You can leave this out if you don't need it. 

NB: The original pin does not fit in the hole, it fits 5mm pin, I used a long bolt.

BOM: 

• 2x 16mm momentary normally open switch
• Microswitch 12.8x6mm microswitch, such as Omron D2F-L3-A1, D2F-L3-D3, D2F-01L3-D3, or D2F-01L3-D. Important are the dimensions, the lever and the radius of the lever end. (OPTIONAL)
• FPC/FFC cable 10cm, 1mm pitch, 10Pin (eg. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10000012558629.html )
• FPC/FFC breakout board 1mm to 2.54mm pitch (e.g. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003044150117.html )

Wiring:

If you don't want to use the micro switch, connect 7 to COM on switch 1 directly.
