3D model description

Christmas is at the corner,
Then this is my contribution.
The idea was to use the remaining leds I bought for the Wind Turbine medium model. they were flashing in several modes then I decided to add these leds into a christmas tree.

This design is quite simple, base on 5 points stars. 3V power and 3 sections.
You can turn the medium section to do not align all points.

For me one led is enough per section, but you can add some where ever you want. just connect to the 3V source and it flash.

I use some small wires from LAN cables. One switch is added in the bottom with battery to switch it on or off.

Spacers were designed separatly than the tree sections to be able to find the best design for light propagation. All parts were printed without support as a challenge but slicer wanted to add some. you can print with supports no issue.

Tree sections were printed with the top on the bed.

I add some pics of the assembly in case you need for better understanding.

Spacers have 5 holes, align with the star's points and glue on the tree sections
Use the 3 leds supports, fit the leds on, add some glue and connect wires. Connect the 3 leds in parallel.

Connect to the battery for a flashing test.
Then fit the led supports into the spacers and assemble the 3 sections.
print the lower tree section in brun for exemple and assemble with the rest of the tree.
it is fitted on the base with 2 wood screws, 3x12 mm
at this stage do not forget the finishing part, flat star shape to close the lower tree section.
add the top yellow star and battery and enjoy
Some glue can be required.

Really not the Christmas tree of the year but I had some fun to design and assemble it. This is the third version as the 2 previous were scrapped because ... not like what I wanted.

My wife saw it, I have now few orders and quite a few to make. Do'nt be worried It remains so many flashing leds.

Happy Christmas 3D builders !

Model was designed with SOLIDWOKS and printed on my CR10 stock
PLA filament are ARIANEPLAST filaments, white, marron, yellow and wood for the base.
