3D model description

This is an awesome open source, 3D printed, wireless hexapod. It's specifically made to play games such as Joust, Capture-the-Flag, and other activities. It has an accessory port and magnetic decoration holders to allow people to contribute 3D printed add ons.

If you want to help support this project and gain a lot of convenience, please consider purchasing the electronics from our store:
http://store.vorpalrobotics.com

For build instructions see our website:
http://www.vorpalrobotics.com

To see a demo of what this little guy can do, see this demo video (more on the Vorpal Robotics youtube channel):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GW3ZaxP6OhM

The 3D printed gamepad can command the hexapod to execute 60 different motions, and you can even program this robot using the MIT Scratch drag-and-drop programming system. Scratch programmed hexapod motions can also be uploaded to the gamepad and associated with gamepad buttons, allowing you to program custom moves and gain an advantage over your opponent during games.

This hexapod is not only fun, it's incredibly eduational!

You can find a list of all the electronic and other non-3D-printed parts at our website www.vorpalrobotics.com. There are also complete build instructions, game rules, and other resources there.

3D printing settings

1mm walls, 0.38 layer height works well but probably a little more or less would also be fine. Rafts or brims are required for the Cap, Base, and Electronics Caddy parts of the hexapod. No parts require any supports, they print as-is.
