3D model description

This is about a 12-piece dissection of a hexagram. Starting from a regular hexagon, one can construct a hexagram by connecting the diagonals and further dissect the hexagram into 12 pieces as shown. The hexagram, so dissected, can be reassembled into 3 congruent small hexagrams.

This dissection can be a great project for K-12 students and teachers to learn about 3D design ideas. For better effect, the inner parts are 5mm in thickness; the outer pieces are 3mm high. The whole star has a radius of 60mm. Have fun!
