3D model description

Hello Folks,
Here is the Magic Top Toy. There are severe things that make this toy and project unique. The top will spin for a long time; 1-2 minutes common, I have one time at 3 minutes! Domed glass surface keeps the top in a confined area. Once top settles into a perfect spin, it’s almost impossible to see it spinning; it looks frozen. You can hold the bezel in one hand (in your palm) and spin top with other hand, you can now manipulate the top on the concaved surface of the glass. And the Magic part(?) is you can print the attached PDF. Cut out the wheel with answers, place under dome/bezel. Ask your question and let the Magic Top point to the answer.

Uses a simple piece of domed glass (you can get at any craft store or clock supply online-β€œ3.75 Diameter Domed Glass, only a few bucks).

Uses a printed bezel; print file attached. Bond glass into bezel using Silicone Adhesive.

Use attached PDF as a guide to make your own top.

Like to see ya beat my 3 minute time! LOL Enjoy, Reamo

Note: it takes any small lathe to make the top. I elected to make an Alum spin shaft and Brass Top Body. But, you are fee to create your top anyway you want. Weight is important and the center of gravity of the part is important, the higher the center of gravity the less stable it seems to be. The Top tip must be true and not damaged for best results.

Note: Do not use over hard floors (tile, slate, hard wood, et) any fall greater than a few inches will ruin the tip of this toy. Recommend over linoleum or carpet. If you spin and it goes off the dish; you are spinning too hard. Start softly and work your way up. Pay attention to technique and in no time you will be able to spin this toy with confidence.
