Practical! Pretty! Pimp...ly!
Remember those little bouncy balls you used to play with when you were a kid? You'd play with them for 2 hours and then they'd magically disappear? Well, now you can add that magic to your Prusa! (Hopefully, it won't disappear!)
Those little bouncy balls are excellent for absorbing vibrations (cutting down the noise and vibration lines on your prints), and their colorful designs add a splash of fashion to your printer. Originally I only had the basic feet, but I thought I'd try my hand at making talons...they came out better than expected!
Unfortunately, I only have the original Prusa i3 MK2S, so I can't test out the MK3 (hint, hint ;D), but it should work...I gave it a clearance of .25mm for them to fit in the rails. I doubt they would be difficult to install. You may want to wait to install them until after fully assembling your printer, you might damage the claws during assembly. Let me know if it needs to be adjusted at all.
To prevent any rolling, I made these feet bottoms, and you can mount to your printing station (I think they're #4 or #6 screws?) Do you really need them and/or screws? No idea. Just don't blame me if your Prusa rolls off your desk!
You should be able to find these little balls at any party supply store, big retail (Target, Wal-Mart). They usually come in packs of 6.
I made two kinds of talons for the MK2S. I basically just rotated the talon 180degs., so you can decide whether you want a claw down the center, or two to the sides. Dragon vs Bird vibe?
For anyone desiring a seamless talon inclusion, I also included a design merging the claw to the Y Corners of the MK2S.
Just print a set of the kind of anti-vibration feet you want, not one of each kind! Print 4 for the MK2S, 4 or 6 for the MK3 (2 can be placed in the midde; the front bars near the frame).
Talons: .1mm layer height, fastest speed: 25mm/s, maybe 30mm/s
Basic Feet, Top and Bottom: .2mm layer height
The stls should all be oriented correctly, I printed mine claws up. But who knows, maybe it'll print better upside-down, it'll just take longer printing all those supports.
