3D model description

A jig for winding coils from magnet wire. Made for a project that required a 1mm thick coil made with 40 gauge wire with 900 turns. The coil was held together by adding small drops of superglue while winding, and kapton tape keeps it from sticking to the jig. The screws are all held on the 3d printed parts using the heat-set threaded inserts from McMaster-Carr (4-40 screws) http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/121/3303/=w1cxzg

The standoff spacers and the handle are 8-32 Nylon threaded hex standoffs that are 1.5" long with matching nylon screws and nuts for the ends.

Update: we found that using sewing machine bobbins was effective for winding the coils, and using red fingernail polish works better for gluing the coils because it can be dissolved with acetone. Added a photo showing the bobbin in the jig.
