3D model description

Mask design for use by healthcare personnel primarily for splash protection of patients with covid-19 or suspected virus.

This design has been modified, prototyped and validated several times during the last 3 weeks from (23/March/2020) until a final version was obtained thanks to the joint work with health personnel who gave us their appreciation and recommendations for the improvement of the designs. These elements were exposed to disinfection methods in different medical institutions in the city of Popayán - Colombia, giving good results.

It is important to clarify that the accessories are called contingency and must be used in the event of a shortage of medical supplies. Our recommendation is that these accessories be treated as DISPOSABLE.

In response to the current emergency caused by the spread of the new coronavirus, a group of Makers, businessmen, students, teachers and citizens met to seek to contribute to the vast needs that our society is going through these days and that is how, from our knowledge, we have developed these "contingency accessories for the protection of health personnel who are exposed every day to a possible contagion of Covid-19.

The disinfection tests that have been validated so far have been with the following elements by health personnel:

-Virucide Disinfectant VIRKON™ S.

-KLORKLEEN disinfectant.

The following have been used by the manufacturers (MAKERS) for disinfection methods:

-Mixture of CHLORINE and water in a 1/10 proportion.

-White vinegar.

-Water and soap.

MATERIALS USED FOR ASSEMBLY:

-Covid-19 Anti-Sappice Caretaker.

-30x26cm Acetate sheet, recommended to be #8 or #10 caliber... if you can't find this caliber you can also use the acetate that is sold in letter size block.

-Spring or rubber, preferably a rubber that can be disinfected since the spring, having a disinfection process, usually wears out or is easily damaged.

*? Assembly steps ?

1- Print the 3d Covid-19 Face splash mask design.

2-Cut a sheet of acetate of 30x26 cm, recommended to be #8 or #10 gauge.

3-Assemble the acetate sheet with the 3D printing frame, make a small hole with a scalpel to the acetate in the blocks that are going to hold it, this for greater security that it does not move at any time.

4 - Enter and adjust the rubber or spring to fit the head of the person who will use this element.

3D PRINTING:

-0.26 layer height and 20% fill, 16 grams of material , 45 minutes to 1 hour 15 printing depending on the settings and printer to be used, printing speed: 80 to 110 mm/s.

We are the resistance, we are a new collaborative knowledge revolution.

Makers and entities that have contributed to the manufacturing processes of these masks to be donated in the city of Popayán: Darwin Manchola(SIS Popayán), Javier Adolfo Castillo(Celeste Team SAS), Jeison Sneider Ruiz Zemanate(Eureka! Technology & Uniautonoma del Cauca), Kevin Steven Castillo Solarte (3D Workshop Popayán), Iván Darío Martínez Martinez (3D Immersion), Carlos Andrés Arias Ramírez (FabLab FUP), Daniel Ararat Gomez (Unicomfacauca), Martin Muñoz (Semillero Robotica Unicauca), Ludwing Nicole Palomino Venachi(Telematics Department Unicauca)......
