Description

Pebble 2 (SE and HR) smartwatch replacement buttons.

The pictures show the buttons printed using Polyjet, not FDM.  Material shown is a Composite of Agilus Black (which is Shore A 30), and Vero White (which is rigid).  The composite material is approx. Shore A 70.

I have not printed or tried to print the buttons using FDM, so I cannot provide details on filaments,  support settings or slicer settings.

Once you have a print which you are happy with, you will need a dressmaker's pin and a small craft knife (like an Exacto knife) to remove the old button material from your watch.

I strongly suggest you test fit the buttons using tape before fixing permanently (as per one of the photos).

For polyjet materials, Stratasys recommends using cyanoacrylate (superglue) to glue parts together.  Please use this link to see recommended glues for different printing types including polyjet.  I recommend AGAINST using thin superglue, as it is too hard to work with and sets too fast: instead use a viscous/medium/slow superglue.

When fixing permanently, instead of gluing the whole thing at once and hoping for the best, I've found it works well to start from one end, using a pin to apply glue to the case (so you don't use too much glue), and fix the top edge (nearest to the screen) of the buttons first as you work your way along in small steps.

I have mechanical pebble 2 button designs available to buy on Shapeways: those models are not compatible with home printing due to the tiny tolerances which are only possible with polyjet, so will not be offered for download.
