Google Nest Cam IQ Outdoor cover, security camera sun cap

The Google Nest Cam IQ Outdoor is a security camera based on the Google Home cloud solution.

The camera should NOT be mounted outdoors in direct sunshine and/or above +45°C/113°F. This could overheat the internal components and could cause malfunctioning. The camera has to be mounted in the shade. Especially with such a costly security device overheating is to be avoided.

In practice the location of the camera can't always be mounted in the shade. This design will make sure that the camera housing is not exposed to direct sunlight and will help to remain it at a lower temperature and protect your device. The double layered design allows air to flow through the top wing to reduce the temperature even more.

The overhang protects the lens from rain, dust and sun flares. You can rotate the cover in any position you prefer. It snaps on tightly without scratching the camera.

Print in PLA+ or other durable UV durable filament. Preferably in white to match the cameras color.

The infill can be as low as 15%.

A standard 0.4mm nozzle is perfectly fine, but since this is a large design you can print it with a larger nozzle.

Print without supports.

Place the part with its back on the print plate, as shown on the picture.
