3D model description

This is a beautiful lifelike daisy with a long stem. You can print it and apply paint, or you can try some of the new porcelain like resins, as seen in the photos, and get beautiful results. Make a bouquet with many flowers and you will have something that looks quite nice in a vase, plus the flowers will never wilt.

Thank you in advance for paying the nominal fee to download the files. I appreciate your contribution more than you know, and it helps keep me supplied with resin, other consumables, and it encourages me to work on more original lifelike designs.

3D printing settings

If you wish to make the flowers like in real life, make the flower head about 50mm in diameter. To achieve stems of a sufficient length, you'll need a medium to large format printer. What you see in the photos was printed on a printer capable of handling a z-height of 175mm. Supports can be tricky; I placed mine manually and I used a lot of them. See the photo to show an arrangement that worked for me. Pay special attention to supporting the lower petals closest to the raft.

There are two downloadable .OBJ files. One is of the flower head, and one is for the stem. The stem is designed to fit inside the hole in the back of the flower head, perhaps with a little sanding and filing. When placing the stem on the build plate, keep it as close to vertical as you can, with the leaves angling away from the build plate.
