This model is kinda useless. Says in the description "The model is hollow to allow for any electronics you might want." so I messaged the seller asking about what it's like so I can add electronics. Didn't reply so 3 weeks later I bought it anyway. Wish I hadn't (and they still haven't replied 3 months later) Here are some issues;
To my massive disappointment, the 3D models are not *at all* designed to take "any
electronics you might want" the prop in the show has animatronic tail, head (moves up and
down), the ears move, the nose 'gun' extends, the panel on the top has lights (which are
illuminated buttons), the eyes light up, the probe between the eyes extends (the original prop
does this with a pole through the neck) and of course drives around on wheels.
NONE of this is feasible with this model. I will say why:
- Animatronic tail; this is a solid piece that is designed to glue on. There is no hole for any
electronics, the real one would have a rubber gasket holding the tail. On this download, it's
all one solid piece.
- Head; again, the flexible neck has been replaced with a solid part that cannot move. There
is no hole designed to add any electronics to allow the head to move, or to pass wires into
the head for other electronics
- Ears; again, these are designed to glue on. There is no space or hole for any electronics to
be mounted to move the ears. It's all solid.
- Nose 'gun'; again, there is no feasible way to mount any electronics here. Everything is
designed to be solid and sit in place and be glued together.
- Panel with illuminated buttons; this is the first problem I noticed and disappointed me the
most. the download literally includes *fake* buttons that glue into square holes. To allow
space for me to purchase and add illuminated buttons, these holes would have to be smaller,
round holes. There is no way to do this without modifying the models, to which the seller
didn't respond as we know.
- Eyes lighting up; again, nowhere to mount electronics, or to pass wires through the neck
from the body
- Extending probe; again, nowhere to mount electronics, or to pass wires through the neck
from the body
- Driving on wheels; there is absolutely no way designed in the model to mount any motors,
wheels, batteries, control boards, anything.
On top of all this, in my opinion the model is poorly designed with no way to attach the body
panels together to allow glue to set. There are also no included instructions for assembly, or
exploded diagram or similar.
