A holder for the standard type 2 charging plug of an electric car. The holder can be placed well next to the charging station (wall box) to hold the plug and the charging cable when it is not in use. Anyone who already drives an electric car or wants to buy one usually installs a convenient charging station in their yard or garage. It is particularly convenient if the Type 2 charging cable remains at the charging station (wallbox) where the car is parked. If the car needs to be charged, you pull the cable out of a Type 2 wall bracket and plug it into the car. This only takes seconds, which makes charging a real pleasure. In this article, I show you how to print a Type 2 holder for the TYPE 2 plug yourself using a 3D printer. The holder even has a locking mechanism to prevent the plug from coming loose.

There are several variants of this type 2 holder. This is the inclined version where the plug is inserted at a slight angle, which improves the drainage of water and reduces cable bending.

The holder is equipped with a locking mechanism and can only be pulled out by pressing the button.

The complete switch consists of 3 parts, a holder, lever and cover. All you need is a normal spring (approx. 20x5mm) and an M3 screw with nut.
