3D model description

Have you ever wanted a fully customisable holiday bauble to give as a gift to a friend? Well neither did I, then a friend wanted one, and now it exists!

Using Fusion 360 or CAD software of your choice, you can roll back the timeline and modify the nametag sketch, and create your own orb.

Steps:
1. Purchase and download the files
2. Open the .f3d or .step file
3. Roll back the timeline or directly edit the text in the "Nametag" sketch to the name you'd like to add
4. Explode the text (or whatever your CAD software does to make it a set of lines)
5. Extrude the text back through the plate by ~15mm as a join
6. Re-fold the sheet metal flange
7. Use the "Combine" feature to cut the extruded flange into baubel
8. turn off all other objects, and export as an STL

The file is fully customisable so feel free to change fonts, sizes, placements, shapes, and anything else you desire.

Happy holidays!

3D printing settings

I've been printing these at 0.2mm layer height on my FDM printer, with painted on supports in very specific places (as pictured). Try to paint it only where it's absolutely needed for so sections to start. I used gyroid infill at 15% with clear eSUN PLA for the one pictured.

You need to be very careful when removing supports, try to only do so with pliers. If it starts to crack, cut where it joins to the model carefully and try again from another angle.
