Universal Mount #1 Bicycle Accessory - 11/27/21
Designed by JWizard

Thank you for choosing the Universal Mount #1 Bicycle Accessory! This is a part that we actually needed for ourselves. We have a couple bikes and we wanted to attach a tail light to the bike rack. In addition, we wanted our universal mount accessory not to interfere with the opening and closing of the bike rack. Our rack has (2) 15mm rods welded together at the rear of the where we wanted to attach the light. The light has the typical 30mm horizontal ring. The problem was to create a mount that would securely attach to the metal rack and offer a 30mm horizontal ring attachment. This part kind of resembles a trailer hitch. The bicycle that we purchased is a citizen 6-speed low profile bike. It is not about the bike, but the rack attachment affixed to the bike. If you have a similar rack and you need to attach a horizontal accessory, this may work for you. Once again the rack has (2) 15mm rods that are welded together at the rear and our accessory attaches to those rods at the middle rear of the rack. Please review all of the photos of the rack by itself and the rack with the attached bicycle accessory.

Mounting Screws:

(2) 35mm screws with 6mm bolt head (the screw could be a bit longer. In the photo we use a 40+mm screw)

(2) 6mm hex nuts (locking nuts would be better although not required)

Suggestions:

It is best to measure your rack to see if this accessory is suitable for you. If this is not perhaps you will find what you need elsewhere. We could not find any accessory like this in bicycle shops.

If our accessory size is close to what you need, you may be able to scrap some of the accessory after printing to make it fit. Or if it is too large, you can use some rubber padding to take up the slack. It is always good to use rubber padding to prevent your accessories from moving on rods and handle bars. It is also possible that you could consider using scaling to adjust the size of our accessory.

Conclusion:

We tried rigging our light accessory to the rack and it always seemed to move. We created the Universal Mount #1 Bicycle Accessory as a solution to this problem. Now our light accessory does not move and our tail light is always facing properly. We hope you find this bicycle accessory to be useful for your bicycle. Let us know if this solves your problem.

Thank you for your support,
JWizard
