The Nelson Class of Battleships were a pair of battleships built for the Royal Navy in the 1920s as a result of the Washington Naval Treaty. The Pair were the only British Battleships to be armed with 16 inch guns and were noted for their odd appearance with all their main guns forward of the superstructure.
Both Ships served throughout WW2 with the HMS Rodney engaging the Bismarck in May 1941. Both ships were scrapped following WW2.
This model is designed in the 1/1800 scale but can be printed in 1/2400 scale without appreciable loss of detail. The model comes as several STL files, one for the ships’ Hull and multiple sprues for the Bridge, turrets, cranes etc.
There are two sprues for the turrets, one has the turret barrels horizontal whilst the other has the barrels elevated to show the ship in combat.
We have tested a few of our designs at two additional scales: 1/3000 and 1/1200 which have all turned out really well. At 1/3000 scale though some components are very small and require additional patience when assembling.
