3D model description

16 cell 18650 battery Power Bank

Here I would like to introduce you to my 16 cell 18650 USB power bank.

It consists of 3 parts, a 16 cell bank that you can easily equip yourself, so it doesn't matter whether 1 cell or all 16 cells are equipped, the capacity is increased in this case, a display module that shows the status of the power bank 7 segment element displays, with the 2 x USB A connections as output, as well as the micro-USB and Type C-USB and Lightning connection for the input for charging the power bank, as well as the slide-in housing.

For the 16 cells are housed, the power bank is a bit larger, 82x44x208 mm, than a flat 8-cell power bank.

The 16 cell battery holder is printed in one piece, into which 18650 battery spring contacts are inserted, which are soldered together beforehand. Soldering template is included. The cells are connected with 2 layers x 0.1 nickel tape per side that I made by spot welding, you can also do it with a copper cable and soldering.

I changed the display module a little, in the original the 7-segment element is soldered to the circuit board. this means that you always have to place it at the top of the case so that the display is visible, I wanted it to be in the middle of the front case and soldered it out and lengthened it with a cable.

The reason for this was also, if the circuit board is on the upper edge, the fastening of the slide-in housing makes it difficult because there is hardly any space.

Sure you can buy something cheap from China, but I enjoy drawing something, incorporating my own idea and then holding the result in my hand.

Have fun recreating it, greeting Merides (Günter)

Another note:
If there is only 1 cell in a compartment because you may not have any more, print out a dummy battery, like this one here https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/18650-dummy-cell so that the battery does not fly out.
