3D model description

A simple ash catcher designed to fit 14mm sliders!
It has a size of 70 x 45 x 60mm.
The purpose of the ash catcher is to prevent any ashes from going inside of your bong while smoking the end of a bowl. It is an excellent way to prevent your bong from being dirty, because all it has to do is filter the smoke, while ash is collected in the catcher.
To use it, just put a little bit of water inside of it (so when the ashes fall they don't burn the plastic and they get put out immediately), insert you glass slider in the hole at the top and enjoy ash-free bong water from now on!
I recommend emptying it after each use to increase its lifetime and washing it at least with water, to make sure the ashes don't stick to the walls inside (if PETG is used, this is also prevented).
ATTENTION!
-I highly recommend printing the parts with PETG, as it is food safe and does not let water stick to it, making it easier to clean (PLA will start collecting bacteria after a while and has an unpleasant odour).
-A glass/metal slider must be bought for this. Printing it in plastic would be really hazardous. The Diameter hole is for 14mm sliders, which can be easily found in shops or on amazon for quite cheap.
-The inline for the bong is angled at 105Β° degrees, so that if combined with the 3D Printed Bong (check it out my shop!), it is parallel to the ground, but it can be used for every bong (or bong component) with a 14mm hole.
-The second picture shows how it looks on the 3d Printed Bong (check it out in my shop!)

3D printing settings

First thing first, flip the model upside down, so you won't need any supports. The only "hard" part to print is the bottom of the slider, which is a circle surface that has to be bridged, but even if your printer's bridging capabilities aren't perfect, if you follow these settings, the piece will still be water tight and functional. I highly recommend printing with PETG.
These settings are to ensure that the walls are completely solid, just like the bottom.
-Wall thickness: >1mm (So that the walls are filled with perimeters)
-Top/Bottom thickness: >1mm (So that the base of the catcher is 100% water tight)
-Infill: although I suggest printing this with 100% infill, as it doesn't add much time, it is not necessary (if you use the wall and top/bottom thickness I specified)
-Layer Height: 0.2 is the best for speed and final looks, but I'm pretty sure you could print with any layer height (have not tried).
-Cooling: yes (accordingly), as the first base layer of the catcher is bridged. If your printer is tuned enough, although the bridging isn't perfect, it should still be water tight.
