3D model description

Peg board calculator holder - Snap fit

by DAR01.

Updated design on my previous design for a similar Peg board calculator holder, but this time it is a Snap-fit construction that doesn't require any glue - just a good printer and some minor brute force.

This is a calculator holder to fit a 25mm/1in pegboard with either 4.7mm dia, 6.5mm dia or Keyhole type fixing holes.

It is designed to fit an ancient Casio HS-4A calculator, but will fit any similar size calculator.

I have included x3 different mounting plates for standard (large) pegs, narrow (small) pegs and keyhole type pegboards. Print the type you need and snap onto the back plate. I would recommend testing that the mounting plate fits on your pegboard before snapping onto the backing plate as you won't be able to remove it easily after.

In all cases you will need to print:

  • x1 DAR Pegboard Calculator holder mk2 LOOP.stl
  • x1 DAR Pegboard Calculator holder mk2 BACKPLATE.stl

and x1 of the following (dependent on your pegboard):

  • x1 DAR Pegboard Calculator holder mk2 KEYWAY.stl - For keyhole style pegboards and some workshop racking.
  • x1 DAR Pegboard Calculator holder mk2 PEGS SMALL.stl - For 25mm pegboard with up to 4.7mm holes.
  • x1 DAR Pegboard Calculator holder mk2 PEGS LARGE.stl - For 25mm pegboard with up to 6.5mm holes.

For reference the calculator dimensions this is designed for are:

Casio HS-4A, but will fit other types of calculators and tools:

Approx dimensions -

  • Width - 64mm
  • Height - 103.5mm
  • Depth - 8.5mm

Note: To make the Snap-fit parts work, your printer will need to be dialled in and getting good dimensional accuracy. The peg adaptors need a little force to snap into place, but are then pretty much permanent with the backplate. The loop is a little easier to snap into place.

Designers comments on use of this Thingiverse design and others

Feedback/comments, Likes and Collects are all gratefully received, as well as users posting their Makes. I put my designs on here for free as a kind of grateful payback for all the Thingiverse files I have downloaded and enjoyed making, especially when I started out into the 3D printing world, but seeing how these turn out for other people is even more worth it, even if you can't design your own models you can still give back to the community in other ways. Please consider taking 5 mins of your time whilst you're waiting for this to print to give back a little; it won't even cost you money!
