Hamartia is the Primarch of the Soul Drinkers Legion and a member of the Black Halo, known by his title of the Violet Tyrant. He is also called the "Prince of Terror" due to his dark personality and a mutation that manifested itself in the form of additional limbs and scales on the skin. Despite this, his Legion was one of the most disciplined and efficient in the Imperium. Hamartya was a respected and honest leader, and his genetic sons inherited his leadership qualities. He fought on many fronts of the galactic wars and made a huge contribution to the victory over the enemies of the Empire.

The Primarch rose through the ranks of his planet using methods of intimidation and terror. When the Emperor discovered him, he saw the qualities of a leader in Hamartia and became his ally. Hamartya is regarded as charismatic and noble, as well as a devoted admirer of the primarch Devortus Gault.
