3D model description

Save your Z-level, by marking the position of the lead screws using these pointers that fit perfectly around the z-motor couplers.

Carry out the z-leveling using the most accurate method you choose, home your print head, then mark where the lines on the lead screw couplers fall. You will immediately notice if your z motors got out of sync, and you will know how to adjust the screws without redoing the leveling!

Included Left and Right z-motor caps, and five variants of the pointers for an accurate fit regardless of the clearance of your printer.

MACRO UPDATE v4 FOR KLIPPER SCREEN
Optional new macro in file z_tilt_via_probe (Klipper macro v4).zip (original macro is still available in the other zip file). Extract macro and upload to root of your config directory.

I optimized the script for speed:
1. Starts heating bed before homing, but starts the HOME process immediately upon starting the macro (saves a few sec)
2. Probes right then left (saves a few sec homing)
3. Quickly moves print head near 0,0 to speed up homing between cycles (saves a few sec)
Overall, the new macro shaves off about 5-10 seconds in the whole calibration process (depending on the number of iterations)

STL + MACRO UPDATE v3 FOR KLIPPER SCREEN
This macro will automatically measure the distances on left and right and tell you how much to adjust the lead screw.
Please watch new video: https://youtu.be/1suV1QlMu0E

Setup:
1. Extract macro z_tilt_via_probe.cfg from Klipper macro.zip
2. Upload to printer
3. Add [include z_tilt_via_probe.cfg] in printer.cfg
4. Run macro from the Klipper Screen

Unknown command respond → add the line
*[respond] *
to your printer.cfg!

Also included updated z-markers (v3) with 5-minute notches to aid lead-screw adjustment. Compatible with pointers v2.

STL UPDATE v2:
+ much improved fit with 4 screw hole protrusions on the right/left caps - no more wiggle!
+ elongated arrow now extends to the edge of the caps - improved viewing angles!

INFORMATION UPDATE:
+ turns out the right and left z-motor caps are compatible with the regular SV06 (non-Plus version!) Thank you @brucoder for the feedback!

SV07/Plus

Please note, these are compatible with SV06 and SV06 Plus. I've designed similar Z-Markers for the SV07 and SV07 Plus which need a slightly different shape. Although the SV07/Plus has better, automatic z-tilt alignment, adjusting the lead screws still quicker and helps keeping track of their drift (which is inevitable on non-coupled z motors)

3D printing settings

All pieces can be printed out of PLA, without brims and supports!

Z-motor caps: 0.2mm layer height, regular speed, 2 walls, minimal infills. If the groove (which is printed up-side-down) doesn't turn out smooth enough slow down between layers 20-25. Print time 15-25 minutes each.

Pointers: print one for each cap, using a contrasting color, 0.1mm layer height, slow speed. It is small small, there is no infill with 2 walls. Print time: 2 minutes each. Start with "pointer 3.stl", if it turns out to be too tight, try "pointer 2 or 1", if too loose try "pointer 4 or 5".

I included a screenshot of the model positions in the slicer, please note these pieces should be printed one at a time!
