3D model description

GP3D is getting back to nature with this delightful troop of 3D printable toadstools. The embodiment of cottagecore accouterment, these mushrooms are a perfect way to decorate your crystal display shelves or liven up your gnome planters and fairy gardens.

The forest friendly mushroom cluster comes in three separate STL files for easy coloring, either by separate filaments, paint, or both! We like both :-)

The STL Files include:

  • Shroom Cluster - Mushroom Caps
  • Shroom Cluster - Mushroom Stems
  • Shroom Cluster - Tree Bark

As you can see in the images provided, we chose to print each piece in different colors. We used a Sunlu red/orange color-changing silk PLA for the mushroom caps, RepRapper's Light Skin PLA color for the stems, and iiiDMAX's Brown PLA+ for the bark.

We then added a little paint for embellishment. Using a sponge brush, we added chocolate brown and golden brown highlights to the top of the stems. We used the same sponge brush technique to highlight the bark with golden brown and just a touch of snow white. The dots on each mushroom cap are the easiest of all, applied with a white paint pen.

QUICKY ASSEMBLY
It's pretty obvious what goes where once you print out the pieces. There are three mushrooms, with three different heights, and three different cap sizes. The tip of each stem has a peg on it, while the bottom of each stem has a hole.

The smallest cap goes on the shortest mushroom stem, medium goes to medium, and largest to tallest. The cluster of stems will only fit one way in the hole cut out in the tree stump. Simply rotate it until it slides into place.

We generally prefer an epoxy glue like E6000 or Gorilla Clear Grip for assembly. However, I recommend using super glue on the mushroom caps, simply because it dries within seconds so you won't have to hold them in place for very long.

DIMENSIONS
At 100% scale and fully assembled, the 3d mushroom decor measures a realistic size. You could certainly scale them larger if you wish. The current dimensions are:

X = 7.5cm / 3.0in
Y = 8.0cm / 3.1in
Z = 8.9cm / 3.5in
