3D model description

To use a smartphone on the bike for trail navigation is very useful. On the Spezialized Turbo Vado 2022/23, however, the mounting is not easy because of the curved handlebar. This smartphone mount is specially designed for the bike handlebars of the Spezialized Turbo Vado 2023. Smartphones of approx. 66mm - 99mm width can be mounted. In the picture you can see a Google Pixel 7 in a Ringke onyx case. This combination is 75mm wide. The retaining clips are specially designed for this combination. For secure mounting of other devices, you should design your own retaining clips. It would be nice if you could provide me with your design for your device type, so I can include it in the download package.

The download includes two versions of the smartphone mount: one for mounting on the left side and one for mounting on the right side.

You will also need:

  • One hexagon socket head screw DIN 912 A2 stainless steel M4 x 50 (for smartphone width up to 78mm)
    Link

  • One hexagon socket head screw DIN 912 A2 stainless steel M4 x 60 (for smartphone width from 78mm up to 88mm)
    Link

  • One washer for socket head cap screws DIN 433 A2 stainless steel 4,3
    Link

  • One hexagon nut, self-locking DIN 985 A2 stainless steel M4
    Link

  • Three cable ties 4.8mm x 200mm
    Link

Optional:

  • A strip of rubber, e.g. from an old bicycle inner tube, to put under the cable ties. This gives a good anti-twist protection.

Assembly instructions:

The sliding block is glued to the base plate B. The M4 self-locking nut is glued into the base plate A. Base plate A is glued onto the bicycle handlebar adapter. The exact position is determined by the width of the smartphone. Make sure that the base plate B protrudes a few millimeters beyond the bicycle handlebar adapter so that you can later clamp your smartphone firmly. The knurled knob is glued onto the screw head. The bicycle handlebar adapter is tightened with three cable ties on the bicycle handlebars. Underlay the cable ties with a strip of rubber to get a better security against twisting.

Hint:
If you use your smartphone without a silicone or rubber case, you need to add a rubber pad to the inside of the retaining clips, otherwise your smartphone will not be held securely enough.

3D printing settings

  • 0.4mm nozzle
  • 0.2mm layer height
  • 15% infill for all parts except the four retaining clips, which should be printed with 100% infill.
