Basic Terrain Hex Tile Starter Set

This is a set of STL files to 3D print Hex Terrain Tiles for Battletech from Catalyst Games & FASA Games. These tiles are the same size of the hexes on official Battletech battle maps. This set includes two versions of the 9 tiles:

Blank Tile
Open Terrain
Rough Terrain
City Rubble
Light Woods (Map and Mech Scale)
Heavy Woods (Map and Mech Scale)
Depth 1 Water
Depth 2 Water
Mech Scale Level Riser

The Mech Scale Level Risers are designed to be stacked to create multiple levels on your battlefield then place the terrain hex tile you want on top of them. They require 3mm ball magnets on both the top and bottom to work.

For a hex map scale level riser, you can use the Blank Hex Terrain Tile as a Level Riser as at hex map scale a level would be 6mm which is the thickness of the Blank hex Tile.

As for the rest of the terrain in the starter set they can be used between True and Hex Map scale without issues. I will be going thru and reviewing the rest of the terrain tiles to see if a hex Map Scale version is needed. If you feel there is one please let me know and I will look into it.

You are allowed to print off as many as you wish for personal use but this is not a commercial license. You may not print to sell.

The default hex tile base is the same dimensions as the FASA and Catalyst Games hex battle maps for Battletech. The hex tiles are about 6mm in thickness.

My Maghex design has the option to insert 3mm ball magnets to be inserted into 6 holes on the underside of the hex tile. This allows for the tiles to be attracted to the neighboring tile or to be held to a magnetic play surface. As I said, this is an option and is not needed to use my hex tile terrain.
