3D model description

These are a set of conversion parts to take a M4, M4A1, M4A3 or M4A4 sherman and display it as the Cummins engined IDF version.

This is the late version of the Cummins (M51 batch 3/4). This is appropriate for M51 vehicles from 1975 on. For other sherman vehicles, please see applicable photo references. The thing to look for is the presence of an exhaust on the left rear plate.

This can be used to replace the rear plate and upper on the Dragon M51 kit. The Short hull conversions had an extension for the rear doors. This is missing on the Dragon kit, which has flush doors which were only seen on the long hull conversions.

For the M4, M4A1 and M4A3 based conversions, use the short hull rear plate. For the M4A4 based conversions, use the long hull rear plate.

For the upper deck, i have included three different lengths. They fit my Dragon M4 and M4A1 kits, and my Tamiya M4A3E8 kit.

3D printing settings

Depending on shrinkage of your material and print orientation you may need to scale to 101-102% in x and y. Keep this in mind if some parts do not fit perfectly

I printed at 25um layers with a 2 sec exposure on a Photon Mono
