3D model description

The Ultra AC/20 based heavily from the technical drawings by Mike Jackson(presumed) as seen on sarna . net under the Ultra AC/20 entry.

I've used this model on a few of my other works, such as Haans and the Mammoth Mk1 but this is a stand alone version of the STL that can be used for your own Battletech projects if you so wish.

The printable version of this is designed for display purposes and could be used in construction of a trophy. A full body version is included but for a display piece it's recommended to print the barrel and frame separate, sand and post process to fit. Prime and fit into one piece.

Pre-supported STL files of the barrel and body are included, it is scaled properly for an Anycubic Photon Mono SE build area.

3D printing settings

Printing the stand alone piece simply requires very strategic supports and depending on the size perhaps hollowing.

The display piece should be printed with the barrel and body separately. The body should be hollow where it can be but the barrel should be printed as a solid. Scale the body to your desired size and print first, rotate as needed. (I use about 62 degree rotation). Print the barrel after you have confirmed any tolerance issues that may have occurred due to shrinkage, etc. Adjust your scale for these tolerances, if everything is perfect on the bore you should still scale down the barrel between 0.02-0.05% to allow for less post processing. Using the pre-supported version of the print will still fit but requires more aggressive post processing and sanding before a proper fit can be achieved.

FDM has not been tried, however I see no reasons for problems attempting to print any of these files with an FDM printer except the pre-supported resin files.
