The stegosaurus fossil rock is an amazing find

Velociraptor is a genus of small theropod dinosaurs that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 75 to 71 million years ago. The species Velociraptor mongoliensis is perhaps the best-known member of this group, thanks in part to its depiction in popular culture, including the movie Jurassic Park.

Here are some interesting facts about Velociraptor fossils:

Feathered fossils: In recent years, scientists have discovered evidence that suggests Velociraptor and other closely related theropod dinosaurs were covered in feathers. In fact, many well-preserved Velociraptor fossils have been found with feathers or feather impressions, providing strong evidence for their plumage.
Deadly claws: Velociraptor is known for its distinctive, curved claws on its hind feet. These claws were highly specialized and could be used to deliver deadly slashes to prey, or to help the dinosaur climb and grip onto surfaces.
Intelligent hunters: Studies of Velociraptor fossils have revealed a highly intelligent predator that may have hunted in packs. Some fossils have been found with evidence of healed injuries, indicating that these animals may have cooperated and cared for their injured packmates.
Nesting behavior: In 1991, a team of scientists discovered a remarkable fossilized nesting site in Mongolia, containing over a dozen eggs and the remains of several adult Velociraptors. This find provided strong evidence for nesting behavior in this species and suggested that they cared for their young.
Size and appearance: Despite its popular depiction as a large, fearsome predator, Velociraptor was actually relatively small, measuring only about 6 feet in length and weighing around 30 pounds. Its feathers would have given it a sleek, bird-like appearance, quite different from the scaly, reptilian image often associated with dinosaurs.
