A while ago, I lost the metal key to my Mercedes car key fob which is already a pain enough, but this meant I couldn’t clip it to my keys as the split ring attachment was on that key. As this was problematic, I needed to come up with a solution so I printed a replacement it didn’t fit the lock, but now I’m able to connect it to my keyring and I can even use it to press buttons like at parking garages or toll booths.
This key should fit inside a Mercedes Benz key fob replacement for Benz A B C E Class BGA NEC GL ML SL SLK CL CLK, For W203 W204 W205 W210 W211 (according to Google). I will include the step & Fusion 360 file as if you wish to trace your own key and add the grooves into it you would be able to, though I’m not 100% sure if you’ll actually be able to unlock the door.
I’ve printed mine in PETG but ASA/ABS would work too. Best to avoid PLA because of its material properties but that’s up to you. The model is also best if printed solid around the key area. If you’re not sure about settings you can always use my pre-sliced files on this page, just remember they are in PETG.
I hope you find this useful in repairing your damaged brooms and happy printing :)
