3D model description

Developed by MaxTech in 2511 as a cheap means to provide security to densely populated areas, the UrbanMax was maligned from the start. Terribly slow, it was able to fulfill its role at urban pacification but lacked any sort of non-lethal options for situations like crowd control. Though it did have the armament to take down most minor threats, like all other IndustrialMechs, the frame and industrial-spec armor it carried were no match against actual BattleMechs or even more modern combat vehicles. Its fate would ultimately be sealed with the debut of another ‘Mech by Orgus Industries - the UrbanMech. It outshined the UrbanMax in every way and just a year later in 2676, production of the IndustrialMech was shut down entirely, with the remaining models all falling into disrepair by the start of the Succession Wars.

Capabilities
With the sole duty of the UrbanMax being urban defense, it was tooled for this very specific task with slow speed, decent weaponry and maximum armor. The 60 Fusion engine allowed it to travel a paltry 32.k kph, while seven tons of Heavy Industrial armor were welded to the frame and could easily protect it from most small arms fire. In place of the right arm was a Class 5 Autocannon, with a ton of ammunition each stored in the right arm and right torso. In place of the left arm was a single Medium and Small Laser.

Despite the issues with the ‘Mech being cheaply produced as an Industrial class rather than Battle, the armament it carried allowed it to respond to most threats it was likely to face. The AC/5 allowed it to launch shells at targets before they even reached the city or urban centers the UrbanMax was likely to protect, and the two tons of ammunition allowed the cannon to keep firing for extended periods of time. The Medium Laser was powerful enough to damage or destroy incoming threats before they got too close and in the chance that hostiles did close in, the Small Laser could be put to good use.

Deployment
The UrbanMax was sold freely, though the primary purchasers were worlds within the Successor States that were severely under-garrisoned, as well as some Periphery realms.

One was infamously utilized during food riots on the Combine world of Macksburg. In 2599, riots broke out all over the capital city, spurred on by famine and hefty import taxes levied by the local governor. When things reached a fever pitch, the city’s lone UrbanMax was deployed and the pilot almost immediately started firing upon the mostly unarmed civilians. Further enraged by these actions, citizens swarmed the ‘Mech and somehow managed to damage its gyro, causing it to topple over and crush dozens more people. With the ‘Mech unable to regain its footing however, the people of Macksburg managed to drag the pilot out and executed him on the steps of the governor’s mansion. The governor would meet a similar fate days later, though the citizens would be swiftly brought back into line not even a full month later when a regiment from Ningxia arrived with actual BattleMechs and tanks in tow.
