3D model description

Open grille for the AMT 1974/75 AMC Matador Coupe and Matador X.

Replaces the closed chrome grille in the kit and gives a more realistic look.

Includes grille, headlight buckets, headlight lenses and grille turn signals.

I have also added a few other parts to make your AMT Matador more correct. This includes front and rear bumper shock covers, correct 1974 only steering wheel and steering column, and correct sideview mirrors.

I added grills with 3 different heights; 8mm, 8,25mm and 8,5mm to adjust for any deviations when attaching the lower valance. 8,5mm worked on mine.

Can also be used to convert the AMT 76/77 Matador Coupe to a 74/75.

Open 76-78 Matador Coupe grille coming soon.

Installation tips:

Paint the grille parts the way you want it, and install the headlight buckets from the back of the grille. Then install headlight lenses and turn signals from the front.

After installing the front valance to the body, I recommend you fit the grille with the hood on, make whatever adjustments that's necessary (should be minor, it fits right in), and make some tabs on the inside of the front fenders for the sides of the grille to rest on. Then you cut most of the 'plate' for the grille off the front valance, leaving roughly the lower 1/32 or1/16 of an inch of the plate for the back of the bottom of the grille to rest on. Then paint the car, and install the grille by gluing it to the tabs on the front fenders and the top of the front valance. This way you will see through the entire grille, and not have the openings blocked by the plate on the front valance.

3D printing settings

For resin printers, print 0,01mm layers for best result. NOT suitable for filament printers, as the grille is very thin in places. Be very careful taking the grille off the supports for the same reason. I recommend carefully taking the grille off the supports before curing.
