3D model description

I like making beef jerky. And as you know if you have ever made any the secret is even thickness, and a good marinade. To get even thickness I would have the butcher slice the meat thin for me but it was never cut just the way I wanted it and they charged extra. So I looked in to a meat slicer, hundreds of $$$ for a motorized slicer. Looked at the manual ones anything under $50 looked very bad quality the rest not so much better so I made my own the secrete is having a super sharp, straight edged knife. The curved blades will tend to dish towards the bottom of the slicer tray, making it thinner in the center. I thought I can make one better and I have a nice slicer knife. Since I buy in bulk and have a couple of huge freezers, I made more sizes for cutting up any boneless/de-boned meat. And not only raw meat it works great on cooled roast beef, make your own lunchmeat. They also work great on any soft veggies or fruit like tomatoes, oranges, pineapple ext.

3D printing settings

The slicer is initaly layed out at 300mm x 200mm much larger than most 3D printers I do have one big enough but generaly I perfer the smaller size. Simple load the .STL files into your slicer of choice and resize make sure the uniform scaling is off, as you only want to change the X and Y not Z.

PET-G is what I use as it is food safe, you can also use ABS, but don't use PLA. Turn off any 'top' finish on your printer the slightly rough texture helps by giving the surface a bit of a grip to hold the food steady. I set 4 walls @ .4mm, with top layers = 4, bottom = 3, infill 25%
