Pregnancy gift

The day your baby is born will be the only date from which you will know in advance that you will leave madly in love. From that day you get the news you will be happy... and from now on you will be very sleepy. Everyone knows how to raise children, except the people who have them.

I must admit that of all the jobs I've designed and printed for any client, this was by far the best. Not surprising, since the client was me.

A few months ago my partner gave me the huge surprise that we were going to be parents, I won't lie to you, I was terrified of that idea, but my paternal instinct arose and the first thing I wanted to do when I could see my future son was to immortalize that moment. So out of that, this design came about.

When I posted it on my 3d printing page I have received so many requests for the frame for different couples. It is incredible to see the joy of the clients when they receive the frame with the ultrasound of their baby and I hope you can feel the same with those relatives, acquaintances and clients to whom you deliver their respective frame and at the same time you help me to have an extra income for the enormous expenses that parenthood entails.

The design is intended to be able to place an ultrasound of approximately 5.5 cm diameter (circular) on both sides of the frame (can be different images, but must have the same dimension).

In this publication you can see how to assemble the frame (it consists of 5 parts), the only thing you will need is some instant glue and if you want to protect the paper you can apply a thin layer of epoxy resin.

The print is intended to be made in PLA but works with any other material except TPU.

Nozzle: 0.4mm

Line width: 0.2 mm

Number of walls: 3 perimeter walls

Bottom and top layers: 2 or 3 layers

Print speed: 45 mm/s (can be more or less depending on your printer)

Printing temperature: 210 °C (Varies depending on the material)

Bed temperature: 55°C (Varies according to the material)

Filling pattern: I recommend triangular or trihexagonal.

Supports: no

Raft: no

The parts you need to print are as follows:

X1 Body part 1

X1 Body part 2

X2 Ultrasonic frame

X1 Core

X1 Base

You will need instant glue to join the pieces together. The order of assembly is observed in the pictures in the publication.

After gluing all the pieces together you can apply a small coat of epoxy resin to protect the piece.
