3D model description

Make an enclosure for your CR-10s Pro V2 (and possibly other Creality printers) with this kit!

Carefully designed to address all of things you’d want out of a quality printer enclosure, this design is not only relatively easy and fun to make, but once put together, it’s pretty darn sturdy, effective at keeping heat in and dust out, and offers several other little features to make working with your printer just that much easier and more enjoyable.

Of the features, the one worth mentioning first is that this design makes working / tinkering with your printing really easy thanks to the removable side and top panels. These panels are held in by strong little magnets which makes popping them on and off a breeze. They also feature little rubber bumpers so that they don’t get scratched up whenever you remove and stack them up against each other.

Second, it’s a really carefully tailored design aimed to be as spatially efficient as possible, just so that the enclosure doesn’t end up using way more space than the printer itself.

It also features a rear port that can act as a window or attachment point for a camera or as a mounting point for ventilation.

It doesn’t require all that much printing - just the corners, hinges, and vents. While the remainder does require CNC machining or laser cutting, all of the clear panels fit onto a single 4x8’ sheet of 3/16in acrylic (0.160in actual, or 4mm), while the opaque black parts fit on less than 32x32in of 1/4in (0.22in actual, or 5.5mm) acrylic.

This design is also lighting-ready, including a 3.5mm dc plug port in the rear and a switch box on the side so that, should you decide to run LED strips inside, you’ve got all the necessary ancillary components pre-fitted and ready to go.

Finally, assembly only requires some deburring, countersinking, installing heat-set inserts, sticking on some rubber pieces, and screwing it all together.

Notes:
This design has been tested for over a year before release. Nothing noteworthy to mention other than, the adhesive that holds the doors on works a lot better if you sand the spot where it sticks (these areas get scored into the acrylic so finding and sanding the right areas is very straight forward. It's held up really well otherwise.

Please Note!

This project does require either CNC machining or laser cutting. If you don’t have access to either, feel free to reach out for a quote or we can help connect you with a local / reputable laser cutting service.

Also, this project is being released as a “working release,” meaning the download includes a copy of the master file (in STEP/OBJ format) with all of the components accounted for and all of the hardware located. It does not (for the time being) contain a parts list, manual, or any of the pieces exported into individual files because I just want to gauge interest in this project first, and second, to get some input on what the final export package should look like.

So, with that said, if you're one of the first to buy and download this design, please shoot me a message; be sure to include what file formats and units you need, any information you can share about your fabrication plans (i.e. laser kerf width, machine type, size, etc) and I'll tailor the export package to your request - I'll also include the parts list and manual in the same file transfer.

Also, if you like the design but would like to use it on a different printer, feel free to reach out. This design can be modified to just about any un-enclosed printer out there, so let me know if / how I can help!
