3D model description

Would you like to use inexpensive receivers with your good Taranis radio? This module is for you.

I had an old radio, a T6A v2. I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the radio itself, and I have a FrSky Taranis x9D+ radio.

I wanted to continue using my stock AFHDS protocol receiver for my smaller models.

By dismantling the radio and recovering the antenna and module to make an external module, I need a few more components such as :

1 TO-220 7805 controller

1 led 3mm

1 touch button 12x12

1 5-pin serial connector KK254

2 x 10kΩ resistors

A few screws.

You can find the radio pinout on the internet (the 5 PPM pins).

Pin 1 is PPM, pin 3 is VBATT, and pin 4 is GND.

The clip is glued to the superglue. It is printed in this direction so that it doesn't break with wear.

Pass the antenna cable through the cover before soldering it back onto the TX.

An important point: it is necessary to desolder the antenna from the TX module.

Then, to use it, nothing could be simpler: in your model, select External Module and voilà.

To pair the receiver with the external module, with the radio off, set the receiver to BIND mode, then with the module connected to the radio, press the BIND button on the module and switch on the radio at the same time. And that's it!
