The top mounted spool on the Ender 3 V3 SE/KE can create a lot of ringing and general instability. Most people don't use the full Z-range of their machine, and this spool mount takes advantage of that to reduce the forces created by the weight of the spool being so far from the base of the unit. The V3 SE/KE is taller than the preceding Ender 3 models, and this can also serve to reduce the overall height of the printer as needed to allow the printer to fit in enclosures designed for the previous generations.
These are the settings that it was designed for, but the tolerances on the main spool holder should allow for most other nozzles/settings:
If possible, due to its small size, the fastener ring should be printed in PETG or stronger since it is what is holding the spool holder shaft in place. PLA is suited for the main spool holder due to its rigidity, and the provided settings give it plenty of strength for its size.
The height of the fastener ring may need to be adjusted +/- 5% on a case by case basis in order to provide a sufficiently snug fit.
